With 118 feature-length movies screening over the course of 11 days, there is just too much for any one person to see. Allowing for adjustments for individual taste, these 15 films are attracting more interest than others heading into the fest. Of course, once they screen and the word-of-mouth begins, all bets are off.
BIG FAN
(Director and screenwriter: Robert Siegel) — The world of a parking garage attendant who happens to be the New York Giants’ biggest fan is turned upside down after an altercation with his favorite player. Cast: Patton Oswalt, Michael Rapaport, Kevin Corrigan, Marcia Jean Kurtz, Matt Servitto.

Why? Robert D. Siegel is getting critical notice for writing “The Wrestler,” but in a previous life, he was editor in chief of the Onion. We can’t wait to see what he does with stand-up genius Patton Oswalt.
