Daily Buzz – May 1, 2009
Posted by Generate Studios on May 1st 2009 in Generate Insight Daily BuzzIt seems like the Twilight franchise has outgrown their Comi-con booth. A conference (called TwiCon) dedicated to the Twilight phenomenon will be held In Texas between July 30th-August 1st. Tickets go on sale today!
This event will be sure to attract millions of people diagnosed with OTD: (Obsessive Twilight Disorder). This type of event will feed the disorder and allow all Twi-hards to bond over the series that has taken over their lives. Some of our community Twi-hards have spoken to us about hosting ‘Twi-nights’ with local Twilight fans – where they act out the movie, line by line and dress the part as well. Some even admit to changing their names (not legally) to Bella, Edward, Jacob and Rosalee. They don’t answer to people who call them by anything else. This craze is attributed to Stephanie Meyers amazing talent of making the reader feel what her characters are feeling. The reader feels like they are one with the character.
Those attending TwiCon will experience the following:
- Twilight movie screening
- live Twilight inspired band performances
- Volturi Masque Ball
- opportunities to meet Twilight cast
- dozens of breakout sessions
- panel discussions
- workshops
- Vendor Hall where dozens of vendors will be set up selling Twilight-esque merch
The cost to attend the event $255. It’s enough content to keep Twilighters nationwide well-fed!
