Topic: Avon’s SpectraColor Lipstick

There’s no greater frustration then getting that new lipstick you just purchased home, to find out thatit’s too dark or light on your lips.  The disappointing lipstick goes to the bottom of the makeup bag, never to be seen again.  Sigh!  Well problem be gone, now that the cosmetic-tech geniuses at Avon created a lipstick the user can customize to their liking called SpectraColor (a product 5 years in the making)!

Our community of Insighters can’t say enough about this product and the technology behind it.   Keep in mind, this is a generation who can customize just about any of the products being offered to them – from sneakers, to music, to cellies – so when a product likeSpectraColor appears on the market – they become beyond curious and anxiously seek it out!   The buzz surrounding the product equates to the fact that with just a few clicks of the SpectraColor lipstick, the user can customize the color of their choice (as light or as dark as they please).  The product comes with tips too, like for instance, to create a fuller lip – the user should ‘apply a darker shade first, then click to the lighter shade and dab a little on the center of the lower lip’!

Millennials are all about custo’me’zation, being able to tweak products to meet their personal requirements and now Avon is serving that desired need!

Why this product will serve this market well:

-          Customization factor

-          For $7.50 the user gets seven lip colors (and looks) in one (which means the user is only shelling out $1.14 per lip color)

-          Product allows the user to switch up her look, depending on her mood (from natural to glam)

-          It’s long-lasting (doesn’t quit, until you do)

-          Tips are shared to help the user obtain different looks – and get the most out of the product

-          It’s from a well-respected, pro-social brand (Avon), with Reese Witherspoon as the brand/product representative.
