A leading talent manager, Kara Welker oversees Generate Management's client roster of actors, comedians, writers, producers and directors along with Dave Rath and Jared Hoffman. For the past decade, Welker has been instrumental in shaping the careers of talented individuals influencing popular culture and is recognized for her ability to leverage opportunities afforded by multiple distribution avenues for talent to create and develop their own branded content.
In 2006 Welker partnered with established media leaders Pete Aronson, Jordan Levin and Dave Rath to launch Generate, the first production, talent management and media consultancy company focused on the development of properties for multi-platform distribution.
Welker began her career working at the Irvine Improv before taking a position at Messina Baker Entertainment, where she developed long-standing relationships with noteworthy comedy talent including Janeane Garofalo and Patton Oswalt. Following Messina Baker, Welker joined 3 Arts Entertainment, where she continued to focus on comedy talent management. Later, Welker partnered with Dave Rath to launch their own management and production company, The Rath-Welker Company.
As partner in The Rath-Welker Company, Welker has managed some of the most prolific minds working in comedy today and produced instant comedy cult hits such as WonderShowzen (MTV) and The Andy Milonakis Show (MTV) and Comedians of Comedy (Comedy Central) and Jimmy Kimmel Live. She has worked with actors, writers and comedians across the landscape of TV including Saturday Night Live and developed young talent out of The Groundlings and the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater.
